My good people, all good things must come to an end.
I’m currently on summer break, which is pretty short for administration. I have not enjoyed it much. I must return to work, in-person, next Wednesday. I just got informed about that via work email yesterday. I find this problematic. For the last five years, I have been good about not checking work email while on break, but I still have two vacancies on my team. I need to check my email to communicate with candidates which is how I saw this email.
No one said anything about being in person. What are my children supposed to do? They have been home since March 12. The programs they normally attend in the summer while Jermaine and I work didn’t happen this summer. The email also stated you should follow up if in-person will be a problem. I sure will. Trust and believe that!
Overall, I’m disappointed in the lack of advanced planning with schools reopening. I’m frustrated by these faux diversity, equity, and inclusion movements. All this stuff is just irritating. Right now, I am not happy about returning to work at all. As my mom says, “Fix your face.” Can I fix it by next week? … however that may look for me.
My coronavirus chronicles is going on hiatus. I say hiatus because I think this grand experient of forcing kids back to school is not going to turn out great, and we will be back at home.
On July 9, in Indianapolis, face masks will be mandatory inside of public places, and also outside if you can’t socially distance. Please don’t be selfish; wear a mask.
I appreciate all of you who have read every single one of the post in this series!
Stay safe, wash your hands correctly, and wear your mask when you are not home. Tschüss!
