Admittedly, I have been stressed most of last week. I had to make a decision, a decision I did not think I would make this late during the summer. Only a hand-full of people know what it is, and I have decided not to reveal it at the moment.
I’m taking a risk. In my office and classroom for years, I have had three essential agreements.
- Treat others how you would like to be treated.
- Follow directions the first time they are given.
- Be a risk taker and participate.
I want kids active in their education. I assert some of us are not active in our lives. We are like students who sit in class and hide and don’t engage in their education. I’ve felt that I have been cruising on auto-pilot avoiding making a decision, avoiding plotting out my next steps.
This summer, I did some soul searching a worked on my one-year, two-year, five-year, and ten-year plan. I know that might sound intense, but if I going to accomplish goals ten years from now, it will probably involve work or tasks I have to complete in the near future. That’s what I did, and now I’m going to follow through.
If you are coasting, don’t coast forever. Go for it, and take a risk. That’s what I’m doing, and soon I will reveal what that is. I know, I know…she’s doing something else besides the publishing company that was announced last week.
You know how I am…I’m nonstop.
Until next Monday!
