Today is the first day of my two-week spring break. As a kid, I never went on a vacation during spring break. The first time I went on vacation on spring break was two school years ago when my sons were in kindergarten.
In kindergarten, my sons learned about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and they wanted to see his monument in Washington D.C. My husband and I decided to fly there for spring break that year. That was my children’s first time on a plane, and they had a blast.
Last year, we decided to drive to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. It’s a place my husband and I like, and we wanted to share the experience with our sons.
This year, I am soooooo glad I’m staying in Indiana. As much as I enjoyed traveling with my family, traveling can be exhausting and too jammed packed. This year, we decided to stay home, and I’m having a blast.
What’s even better is I hired a housekeeper to clean my house today. There is nothing better than binge watching television while someone else cleans your bathroom.
Breaks are great…if you actually take a break. Too many of us fill our vacations and days off of work with so much action that we need more days off to recover from our vacation. When you take days off of work, take my advice and relax.
…and I would have included a picture on us on spring break today, but I’m afraid there might be potato chips in my hair from eating in bed and binge watching TV.
