National Reading Month: Educator Barnes Reads – How to Deal with and Care for Your Annoying Little Brother

How to Deal with and Care for Your Annoying Little Brother by Nia Mya Reese is a humorous and thoughtful story about looking out for a younger sibling.  The author of this story is a student at Deer Valley Elementary.  Having this story written by a child author makes it easier for children to relate to the situations covered in the story.  The other part of the story I love are the illustrations.  The illustrations highlight all the wonderful hairstyles black girls can rock and that’s just awesome!

Listen to the story in the video below.
