Book Review: Kayla: A Modern-Day Princess

Kayla: A Modern-Day Princess by Deirdre “Deedee” Cummings is book one in a five-part series centered around Kayla pursuing her dream of becoming a Broadway star. The story is inspired by Broadway actress Kayla Pecchioni.

Kayla’s mom wants her to remember that she always needs to have a plan especially if she wants to accomplish her hopes and dreams. Her mom not only gives her advice, but she also shows her advice through her actions.

The illustrations are bold and beautiful. They enhance the story. My only wish was for more of Kayla’s story in the first book. Since this is a series, I am looking forward to learning how her story will progress.

This book would be a great addition to a home, classroom, or library!
